Rev. Andrew J. Summerson, S.Th.D. in addition to being St. Mary’s pastor, is the Syncellus for Doctrine and Worship for the Byzantine Catholic Eparchy of Parma. He holds a doctorate in Patristic Theology from the Pontifical Patristic Institute “Augustinianum” in Rome. He was adjunct professor of theology at St. Mary Seminary and John Carroll University, both in Cleveland. Many of his articles on topics about the Christian East and the Fathers of the Church have been syndicated by Catholic News Service. He has also been a guest commentator for papal events for Vatican Radio and EWTN. A frequent speaker at parishes, universities, and college campuses, he is available for retreats, workshops, seminars, or parish missions. to have Fr. Deacon Timothy D. Woods, M.M. has been the deacon for St. Mary’s since 2014. He began at St. Mary’s as Cantor and Choir Director (Founder) in 2007. He serves on the Intereparchial Music Commission as the representative for the Eparchy of Parma. He holds a masters degree in Music from Northwestern University. He also has a Certificate of Catechesis from the Inter Mirifica Institute (Fr. John Harden). Before St. Mary’s, he was Cantor and Choir Director at Annunciation Parish in Homer-Glen IL. He has taught music at the Junior College, High School and Grade School level in Illinois, Indiana, and New York. He has had articles published in the National Pastoral Musician as well as Nova et Vetera. He is available for guest conducting as well as cantor workshops.
